A Thought from Tricia:  It is important for students to learn through interactions in classes. I value teacher-student and student-student interactions in my classes. I always feel the need to teach beyond the curricula and make learning engaging. Following the curriculum strictly bores me stiff.

ENGLISH MUST BE INCLUDED AS L1 IN THE COMPUTATION OF    ‘N’ & ‘O’ LEVELS  GRADING POINTS

Whether you want go to the Junior College (JC), Pre-University Centre, Polytechnic (Poly), or Institute of Technical Education (ITE), English must be

Calculation of L1R5 (To go to JC):
L1 (either English or Higher Mother Tongue)
∙       Relevant Subject 1: from the best of Humanities
∙       Relevant Subject 2: from the best of Mathematics/ Science
∙       Relevant Subject 3: from the next best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science
∙       Relevant Subject 4: from the next best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science and other GCE ‘O’ Level Subjects 
∙       Relevant Subject 5: from the next best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science and other GCE ‘O’ Level Subjects 

CCA is not included in the computation of L1R5.
No subject can be used twice in the aggregate.
Mother Tongue Language ‘B’ Syllabus cannot be used for the computation of aggregate points.
Students that fail L1 (EL or Higher Mother Tongue) still have their L1R5 aggregate computed.

Calculation of L1R4 (To go to Poly / Millennia Institute):
L1 (either English or Higher Mother Tongue)
∙       Relevant Subject 1: from the best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science 
∙       Relevant Subject 2: from the next best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science
∙       Relevant Subject 3: from the next best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science and other GCE ‘O’ Level Subjects 
∙       Relevant Subject 4: from the next best of Humanities/ Mathematics/ Science and other GCE ‘O’ Level Subjects 

No subject can be used twice in the aggregate.
CCA can be included as either relevant subject 3 or 4.
If the student has insufficient subjects (i.e. student does not have an English grade and an HMT), then L1R4 cannot be computed.
Mother Tongue Language ‘B’ Syllabus cannot be used for the computation of aggregate points.
